Marshall Moore - On Tap Credit Union

Meet Marshall Moore
Your Community Development Advocate at On Tap Credit Union

Marshall attended Brown University and soon after graduating, found his calling: teaching. After creating an award-winning Financial Literacy curriculum for his students, he realized how much we need to be having financial conversations ALL across our society because it allows people to move past financial stress, toward a bigger, better, and brighter future. Now, Marshall teaches finance in a way that resonates with people's own "Money Psychology". He lives in Golden, Colorado with his wife and dog, and enjoys outdoor adventures in all seasons of Colorado.

When I was young and living on my own, I knew that I should probably have a budget and all that stuff, but I had so many other things that I wanted to do with my life. I even tried at times tracking every expense and adding it into a budget and that just served to make me feel bad about myself and it never actually made a difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything to get a personal consultation?

No! There is no cost to schedule a private, personal consultation. In fact, we'll give you a $15 gift card after your first financial consultation just for taking the initiative to learn about how we can help you create systems for managing your money.

Do I have to become a member to get a private consultation?

No! While of course we would love to serve you as your trusted financial partner, we understand that money can be a sensitive subject that is unique for each individual. As a community driven credit union, our goal is to help those within our communities to live their best lives possible. Our consultations are free and there is no obligation to join should you prefer not to.

If I did want to join, who can qualify to become a member?

Joining On Tap is simple and you can become a member by living or working throughout Jefferson, Boulder, Denver, and Larimer counties. In addition, being a part of one of several local select employee groups including Colorado craft breweries, MillerCoors, Molson Coors, CoorsTek, Coors Distributing Company (CDC), Terumo BCT, and many more can qualify you for membership. Connect with us for more details if you are unsure how to qualify.

What is the difference between a credit union and a bank?

Banks are for-profit institutions owned by shareholders, while credit unions are not-for-profit organizations owned entirely by the members of the credit union. This means that credit unions typically offer lower fees and better interest rates as they aim to benefit members rather than simply generating profit. Additionally, as representatives of their member base, credit unions focus on community involvement and provide a more personalized banking experience.

Do you have any resources if I'm not ready to talk to someone yet?

Absolutely! Check out our free guide to the top 5 fastest ways you can start to develop a stronger relationship with money here: https://info.ontapcu.org/moneyhacks
